Tell us about your career:
Varied is probably the best word to describe my career. I started in civil engineering (multi-family development - no joke) and moved into HVAC after a 6 year career in engineering. I spent nearly 13 years in total with the Carrier Corporation. Along the way I spent time with Allied Waste, Republic Services and Valet Waste. I've been in sales, operations, general management and executive leadership roles. I went to graduate school while I was working and have attended a few different executive education classes. I was sponsored by the Bay Area Apartment Association to become NAAEI certified and enjoyed teaching classes while in Tampa. I'm enjoying leading the Affinity/GreenWay team and am lucky to work with an incredibly talented group of people each day.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Ask questions. Remain curious. Get really good at your craft. Be a lifelong learner. Don't get hung up on being right, focus on getting it right.
Anything else you would like to share:
Yeah, I'm about as "unspecial" as anyone. I've been incredibly lucky to have had and still have great mentors, bosses and friends to work along side - all of whom have taught me much more than I taught them.
