Tell us about your career:
I started my career with RAM Partners as a Leasing Consultant in 1999, became an Assistant Manager in 2000, and was promoted to Property Manager in 2001. After 14 years on-site I transitioned to the supplier side and currently work at CareMaster. I’ve been involved with TAA for many years and have been honored to serve on the Board of Directors and held the position of Treasurer for a term. Additionally, I’ve been on the PR Committee, Xcel Committee and Government Affairs Committee, which I co-chaired for a couple of years. I also served on the Executive Council with IREM for 10 years and held the Treasurer position there for a term. I’m currently on the TAA Government Affairs Committee and the TAA-PAC Board of Trustees, plus I’m the President of GAPMA in Greenville.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Be a sponge and soak up all the knowledge you can! There are so many wonderful people in the apartment industry and you can learn a lot by paying attention to those around you. We all have something to offer and both on-site teams and suppliers assist in making our communities great! I always say, “You never know where life will lead you!” I didn’t know that my first leasing position would turn into a career that has spanned over 26 years.
