NAA: Refugee Housing Virtual Open House

NAA News,

NAA has been engaged with the Federal government, non-profit refugee resettlement organizations and for-profit firms that serve the refugee community for almost a year to find permanent homes for tens of thousands of Afghan and Ukrainian refugees resettling in the U.S. Securing available, safe, and affordable housing is foundational as these individuals and families rebuild their lives, but, as we all know, this is especially challenging in today’s tight housing market.

One of the ways NAA tries to help in the effort is to promote to you and your members opportunities to learn more about these prospective residents and how rental housing providers can get involved. There is one such event coming up next week that I want to raise to your awareness.

Refugee Housing Solutions, the core national organization working on resettlement, will hold a virtual open house on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 1:00 pm EST to review the resettlement process and address how housing providers, property managers, and property management companies can have a positive experience when renting to refugees and newcomers.

Refugee Housing Solutions will answer some of the questions and address concerns housing providers may have regarding housing topics surrounding what renting to refugees and newcomers looks like. The Refugee Housing Solutions Virtual Open House will:

Provide and discuss the benefits, process of renting, and what the partnership will offer.
Provide an in-depth look into Refugee Housing Solutions services.
Provide an overview of the refugee resettlement process and how
refugees
are vetted and rent-to-ready tenants.
Provide insight on how to contact and engage the resettlement agencies, as well as how you can provide your listing(s) of available housing for refugees and newcomers.
Address any questions or concerns regarding Refugee Housing Solutions and how they can help you navigate the process of renting to refugees and newcomers.

Refugee Housing Solutions strives to provide premium service and information that makes renting to refugees and newcomers as easy as possible. "Having spent a lot of time with these folks over the last year, I can tell you they are wholly committed to supporting housing providers and making their experience a good one," Greg Brown, NAA's Senior Vice President, Government Affairs.
