Tell us about your career:
I began my career working in the hotel industry in Myrtle Beach, where I developed a strong foundation in customer service, teamwork, and adaptability. In that environment, no two days were the same, and team members often stepped into different roles as needed — whether assisting with housekeeping, maintenance, or food service. That experience taught me the importance of collaboration and providing excellent service in every situation.
My husband and I later moved back to North Carolina to be closer to family. While he continued working in the apartment industry, I explored a different career path. However, I quickly realized how much I missed working in a people-focused environment and building connections with others. That realization led me back into the property management industry.
I worked as a Property Manager for several years before being given the opportunity to join Phillips Management Group’s corporate office as a Marketing and Office Assistant. Since then, I have truly enjoyed continuing to learn, collaborating across departments, supporting onsite teams, and growing into my current role as Centralization Manager.
Being part of the development of this new department has been especially rewarding. Together, we have worked to define and refine what Centralization looks like for Phillips Management Group, and it has been exciting to see teams come together with the shared goal of creating the best possible experience for our residents.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Embrace every growth opportunity that comes your way, both formal and informal, as each experience contributes to your personal and professional development.
