AANC 2026 Onsite Scholarship Recipients
Michael 'Shane' Brewer and Nicole Cleary are this year's recipients of AANC's new Onsite Employee Scholarships. These scholarships were established to support the growth and development of Maintenance and Non-Corporate Office multifamily professionals.

Michael 'Shane' Brewer, Maintenance Supervisor at Parliament House & Collins Park (Apartment Dynamics), is the recipient of the Onsite Maintenance Scholarship. When asked about his contributions to his community or the multifamily industry, he shares:
"Throughout my time in the multifamily industry, I've focused on doing things the right way and being someone the company can count on. I've saved ownership money by handling as many repairs in-house as possible instead of calling vendors, while still making sure the work is done correctly and safely. I'm always willing to step in and help other properties or team members when they need support, whether that's troubleshooting issues or lending a hand during busy times. I also take pride in training and mentoring younger maintenance techs, sharing what I've learned over the years to help them grow, gain confidence, and succeed in their roles."

Nicole Cleary, Senior Community Manager at The Boulevard a Broadstone Community (Greystar), is the recipient of the Non-Corporate Office Employee Scholarship. When asked about her contributions to her community or the industry, Nicole shares:
"I have consistently contributed to both my community and the multifamily industry through charitable involvement and service. Over the years, I have supported organizations such as Entryway, industry PACs, and women’s shelters in the Charlotte, NC area through donations. Outside of work, I volunteer my time participating in rail trail clean-up efforts to help keep the local community clean and welcoming.
Professionally, I have contributed to the industry through hands on experience across multiple asset types, including garden style, mid-rise, and high-rise communities. I have worked in two major markets, Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte, NC, which has allowed me to bring a diverse perspective and adaptable approach to multifamily operations."
Shane and Nicole will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend the 2026 CONNECTed Conference in Raleigh, NC, May 11–13, 2026, covering conference registration and hotel accommodations.
