AANC 2026 Larry Cranford Scholarship Winner | Alexis Green

AANC News, Member News,
AANC is happy to announce that Alexis Green is the recipient of the 2026 Larry Cranford Memorial Scholarship.

Alexis currently serves as a Leasing Consultant at Clear Run Apartments, a Gables Residential Partners property, where she has quickly made an impact through her dedication to resident satisfaction and community engagement. In her role, Alexis has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing exceptional service, fostering positive relationships, and contributing to a welcoming environment for all residents.

Driven by a passion for working with people, Alexis chose a career in the multifamily industry to create spaces where individuals feel supported and valued. She believes the apartment industry offers a unique opportunity to combine professionalism, service, and continuous learning, and she is committed to building a long-term career within the field. With aspirations of growing into a leadership role, Alexis is focused on expanding her industry knowledge and strengthening the skills necessary to make a lasting impact in the North Carolina apartment industry.

Giving back to the community is also a key part of Alexis’s work. Over the past year, she introduced and helped implement a “Take What You Need, Give What You Can” community box at her property. By partnering with members of the surrounding community, she has ensured the box remains stocked and accessible to residents and others in need. This initiative reflects her belief that apartment communities should be places of care, connection, and support—not just places to live.

As this year’s recipient, Alexis is eager to continue growing both personally and professionally, using this opportunity to further develop her leadership skills and expand her network within the industry.

The mission of the Larry Cranford Memorial Scholarship is to foster the professional education and career development of selected up-and-coming multifamily industry leaders in North Carolina. It is named after long-time North Carolina apartment leader, Larry Cranford. Larry served as AANC President from 1996-998 and taught apartment management and maintenance throughout North Carolina for 25 years. He was loved by many for his folksy ways, his absolute commitment to industry education, and his people skills.

Recipients of the scholarship receive up to $1000 towards the cost of the NAAEI Designation course.
