Tell us about your career:

I began my multifamily career 37 years ago as a leasing consultant, which set the stage for a rewarding and fulfilling professional journey. My role as a leasing professional sharpened essential skills like active listening, proactive problem-solving, and especially relationship-building—foundational skills I leveraged throughout my career.

My career path reflects diverse yet purposeful experiences, from Leasing Professional to Sales Executive and Publisher in the ILS industry, pioneering the 55+ Active Adult platform at Greystar, and expanding into roles at CORT Furniture and InterSolutions Staffing. At each stage, consistent and genuine engagement allowed me to cultivate a robust network of colleagues, friends, and teams.

I have always emphasized the intrinsic value of authentic connections over mere transactions. Viewing myself not merely as a salesperson, but as a connector and bridge-builder, this perspective has enabled me to foster meaningful, enduring relationships. Relationships, in fact, are fundamental to success in our industry.

What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:

Two pieces of advice stand out:

Listen, absorb, and continuously learn from seasoned professionals. This proactive approach helps build long-lasting relationships and establishes credibility.

Embrace the Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. This timeless principle fosters mutual respect, sincerity, and genuine care, forming the basis for meaningful professional and personal relationships. Many friendships I've cultivated began over 30 years ago and continue to thrive.

My passion for sharing business knowledge inspired me to co-found the GCAA Ambassador Program. This initiative epitomizes the power of relationship-building and mentorship, pairing seasoned industry members with newcomers to guide them, share best practices, and foster growth and friendships.

Anything else you would like to share:

Two of my favorite sayings reflect my philosophy: “People will always remember how you make them feel,” and “I live my life as a ‘WE’—together, we can achieve anything!”
