Tell us about your career:
I have worked in construction for 25+ years in both residential and commercial. For the last 10 years I have worked for THS National in Multifamily renovations. I've held several different roles at THS in operations and sales. I enjoy multifamily as it has some aspects of both residential and commercial construction, and every day seems to be different.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Be a sponge and develop real relationships with your teammates, suppliers and trade partners. Be prompt to meetings and come prepared and organized. We have to move at a fast pace so being prepared is critical. Honor your commitments. If you say you will have something done by a certain time, make sure it's done. Overcommunicate to avoid missing details. Verbal communication is overlooked these days, but I feel it's critical to have actual conversations with people.
