Tell us about your career:
I am currently a Regional Manager, overseeing five third-party communities, as well as assisting our development team. I started my career with Blue Ridge as a leasing consultant in Jacksonville, NC. I found that property management came naturally to me in many ways, and I was able to move up quickly to community manager, where I spent 15 years at the site level. During that time, I also served Blue Ridge as a mentor and senior manager, where I was able to assist various regionals and other communities. Those opportunities stretched my thinking and skills and helped to give me a well-rounded view of the multifamily industry.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Under promise and over-deliver. You never want to make a promise you can't keep. Just be honest no matter the situation and always seek to exceed your customers expectation.
