Tell us about your career:

I started leasing apartments in 1991, almost by accident. At the time, I didn't have a clear career path, but I quickly realized I loved helping people find their home. Over the years, I've had the privilege of holding roles in Leasing, Marketing, and Management, both on the owner/operator side and the supplier side. My career took a significant turn when I moved into advertising sales, which helped me grow professionally. I eventually became the Publisher for The Apartment Shopper’s Guide before it transitioned to a digital format.

By 2000, I was a frustrated Regional Property Manager, and I saw an opportunity to serve the industry I loved through staffing, marketing, and training services. That’s when I opened Full House Marketing in North Carolina. The very first check I wrote was to the Triangle Apartment Association to become a supplier member because I knew the association would help me grow my business and further serve the industry.

I immediately joined the Public Relations and Community Outreach Committee and the rest, as they say, is history. One of the pinnacle moments of my career was receiving the AANC Lifetime Achievement Award. Being recognized alongside some of the most outstanding pillars in the apartment industry was a tremendous honor, and it filled me with immense pride and gratitude. This industry truly changed my life.

What I love most about my job is the ability to develop talent and help others build their careers. That’s what drives my passion today—empowering people and organizations to reach their full potential in this dynamic industry.

One thing I’ve learned throughout my career is the power of relationships. From day one, the connections I’ve made—whether through industry associations, colleagues, or clients—have been the backbone of my success. I’ve always believed that being genuine and generous with your knowledge and time helps build a network that’s not only valuable in business but also supportive on a personal level.
