Tell us about your career:
My journey in the multifamily industry started nearly 20 years ago, thanks to a phone call from a friend who told me about a leasing consultant position at her community. I applied, got the job, and figured I’d give it six months while I figured out my next steps. I had no idea that “fun job” would turn into a career I’d absolutely fall in love with.
From the start, I got involved with the Triangle Apartment Association and began volunteering on the Public Relations Committee. When the community I worked for sold a couple years later, I was able to transition to the supplier side—thanks to the relationships I had built through TAA. That shift opened the door to new opportunities, and I’ve never looked back.
I spent seven years with AFR, deepening my involvement with multiple apartment associations across North Carolina. I then joined The Liberty Group, and I’m now coming up on my 11-year anniversary. I originally came on board to open our Raleigh office, and over the years, my role has grown alongside the company. Today, I’m proud to serve as Senior Vice President, working with our amazing teams across the country. From branch operations to national client partnerships, I get to collaborate daily with some of the most passionate, hardworking people in the multifamily industry. Helping others grow, succeed, and find their place in this field continues to be the most rewarding part of what I do.
What I love most about my job is being part of an industry that’s all about people. Whether it’s mentoring my team, supporting clients, or helping someone land their first job in property management—it’s incredibly rewarding to know you’re making a difference.
I'm so thankful for the apartment associations across North Carolina and the role they’ve played in my career growth and connection to this industry. The people I’ve met have become not only colleagues, but lifelong friends.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
My advice to anyone getting started in this field: say yes. Say yes to the entry-level job, the volunteer opportunity, the networking event. You never know which moment might launch your next big chapter. This industry is full of opportunity if you’re willing to show up, learn, and lead with heart.
