Tell us about your career:
I began my career in the multifamily industry as the Marketing and Events Director at the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association, where I led education, events, and industry engagement efforts for multifamily professionals and supplier partners. That role gave me a strong foundation in relationship-building, communications, and understanding the needs of the multifamily community from an association perspective.
From there, I transitioned into a Marketing and Communications role, where I was able to expand my skills in branding, content strategy, and storytelling within the industry.
Today, I serve as a Sales Representative with The Liberty Group, where I connect multifamily communities with qualified talent and staffing solutions. This role allows me to combine my experience in marketing, relationship development, and industry knowledge in a more direct, solutions-driven way.
What I enjoy most about my career is the ability to move between strategy, storytelling, and people-centered work—all within an industry I’m genuinely passionate about.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Start by being curious and consistent, not perfect. The multifamily industry is relationship-driven, so focus on learning people just as much as learning processes.
Volunteer for projects, attend industry events, and don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to people outside your immediate role. Skills can be taught, but reputation, professionalism, and reliability will carry you further than anything else early on.
Also—find your lane, but don’t limit yourself too soon. Many of the best opportunities come from saying yes to things you didn’t originally plan for.
Anything else you would like to share:
I’m especially passionate about creating space for more diverse voices in the multifamily industry and showing that there are many different pathways into leadership. One of the things I’m most proud of is creating my Canva for Multifamily and Social Media for Leasing Agents courses, which allow me to share practical tools and training with professionals in the industry. Teaching and developing these resources has been a meaningful way for me to give back and support others as they grow in their careers.
I also enjoy using creativity—whether through design, storytelling, or social content—to make industry information more accessible and engaging.
I’m grateful for the relationships I’ve built in this field and excited to continue growing, learning, and contributing in ways that elevate the industry as a whole.
