Tell us about your career:

I’m an Assistant Property Manager, and my role involves a little bit of everything—delinquency management, conflict resolution, resident support, and keeping day-to-day operations on track. I’m also really involved in creating resident events and bringing new ideas to the table that help build a stronger community.

For almost two years, I’ve been in the industry, and it’s shaped me both personally and professionally. I enjoy connecting with others in the field and taking on opportunities that help me grow. I like being someone my team can rely on, and I’m working toward furthering my leadership opportunities.

What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:

I started as a Leasing Consultant and quickly moved into an Assistant Manager role, and one of the best pieces of advice I can give is to learn as much as you can from everyone you work with. Everyone brings different leadership styles, experiences, and personalities—and there’s something to take away from all of them. Stay true to yourself—your personality and authenticity are what make you stand out in this industry. Ask questions, stay curious, and be open to feedback. You’ll never stop learning in this field, so embrace it. Every situation, even the tough ones, is a learning experience that helps you grow both personally and professionally.

Also, grow your connections and get involved outside your role when you can—there’s so much this industry has to offer if you’re willing to put yourself out there.

Anything else you would like to share:

Property management can be incredibly rewarding when you lean into both the challenges and the growth it offers. I’ve learned the importance of communication, patience, and being solution-oriented. If you show up with a good attitude and a willingness to keep learning, there’s no limit to where this career can take you.
