Tell us about your career:

Starting as a Groundskeeper/Maintenance Technician in 2005, I never thought the Property Management Industry would turn into a career. I worked diligently and became a Leasing Agent, then Sales/Leasing Manager, Assistant Property Manager, and Property Manager, all before holding multiple corporate positions including Regional Director, Director of Asset Development, and Vice President.

Now I am the proud Founder of my own company! This journey has taught me so many lifelong lessons and helping others in the property management industry has truly become my passion. As the President and Founder of Phoenix Management Group, LLC, I endeavor to make a positive impact on the lives of others that can never be erased. I value each one of our teammates, residents, vendors, and colleagues. I hope that by creating a network of people who truly care this industry will continue to thrive and our communities will see positive change.

What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:

The best advice I could give is to really be yourself. This ever-growing industry is full of opportunities whether that be in Leasing, Operations, Facilities, or Management; there are plenty of routes to take and you can not go wrong with any of them. Being yourself and learning the industry will allow you to take the best path for you. Find a mentor and listen to hear and not just listen to listen because there is so much information out there and knowledge truly is power. Find a company that you can grow with and do not be afraid to take risks.

Anything else you would like to share:

Remember to always be kind, the world needs more people who are genuine and care. This is a huge industry but it is small. Remember your word is your bond so do the things you say you are going to do. Lastly, we interact with a lot of people in property management, let's all try to make the world a better place one small interaction at a time.
