Tell us about your career:
My career in Property Management began in early 2023 when I broke out of the retail space and into a Leasing Consultant position. A career in Property Management came into my life right when I needed it to, and I didn't even know I needed it! In one year's time, coming from no experience, I am now a Leasing Professional with almost 2 million dollars in Net Leases under my belt. I currently work for Greystar and I love every minute of it. Being able to see my efforts come to life, and the smiles on residents faces, makes every ounce of my work worth while.
As a newfound TAA member, I am over the moon to be a part of something so influential and important in the rental housing industry - I recently became a member of the Special Events Committee.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Listen and learn! Knowledge is power, so utilizing the tools around you that can serve as a learning opportunity is essential - do not be afraid to ask questions. Networking is a very valuable tool as every person you meet has different experience or way of doing things that you can learn from - it also allows for more opportunities, so do not be afraid to put yourself out there! Embrace and empower your team, whether that be through celebrating successes, collaborating on ideas or solutions, or having a morning meeting just to check in - your team dynamic is a critical area to invest in as it drives success, fosters innovation, and creates a positive impact on the properties you manage.

This industry is fast-paced and continues to evolve; you will always have room for personal and financial growth. There is something new and exciting to experience every day!
