Tell us about your career:
Cindy began her property management career over 25 years ago as a part time leasing consultant and has now progressed through the roles onsite to a Regional Manager, joining Highmark in 2022 with the acquisition of her portfolio. She has held many positions in the local Wilmington Apartment Association from treasurer, education chair, vice president and even president. She is currently serving on the education committee for both the local WAA and the Apartment Association of North Carolina.
A lifelong learner she earned her Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) in 2006 adding in the micro credential of Student Housing Specialist in 2017. She went back to school later in life during Covid amid working full time to finish her Associates in Arts. Her most recent accomplishment is earning the Certified Apartment Portfolio Specialist (CAPS) in 2024. Cindy’s motivational and sunny disposition helps her manage, unite, and support teams in four cities.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Remember it is a privilege we have to been in residents lives and their homes. We help create homes, so be kind, be sincere, and have joy in every step you take!

I have been beyond blessed over my career to have so much support from my local affiliate to the AANC to the National Level this has been more than a job it has been a chance to be a servant leader!
