Tell us about your career:
Hi! I’m Angie, born and raised in Decatur, IL where I began my career in the multi-family industry as a part-time leasing consultant in 2006. I saw the ocean for the first time in 2009, and immediately relocated from IL to NC just two weeks after securing a new assistant manager role graciously offered by Susan Redding - I will forever be grateful!! That move allowed my family so many new opportunities.
I have obtained my Associate's Degree in Business Administration and Human Resources and been fortunate to have worked for a company who valued education partnering with my success in obtaining my Notary, CAM, CAPS, CAM for Student Housing and most recently obtained certifications for NCHFA. I am beyond blessed to work in an industry and with coworkers, vendor partners, and teams who value the power of building relationships while encouraging empowerment. This has allowed me to become a better person, performance driven, and energetic leader who loves to inspire, teach, laugh, and grow daily alongside my teams.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Above all things, never stop learning, growing, and inspiring others! Be the exception, motivate daily, lead by example, and don't be afraid to jump in no matter what your title is. People will always remember how you make them feel and even though this industry is so large, it is also very small!
