Jay Sykes

Jamaula “Jay” Sykes is a Property Manager with Drucker & Falk at Hanover Terrace Apartments in Greensboro, North Carolina, bringing a passion for community building, inclusive leadership, and resident engagement. Since joining the company in 2021, he has combined operational accountability with a people-first approach. Jay serves as PTAA’s 2026 DEI Chairperson, Recording Secretary for Tau Epsilon Sigma of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and North Carolina Sigma–Zeta Liaison. A Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and doctoral student in Business Management, he is exploring the impact of DEI initiatives on workplace culture in multifamily housing. His recognitions include the 2024 AANC DEI Scholarship, selection to AANC’s inaugural Top 20 on the Rise in 2025, and a 2026 NAA Credential Holder Scholarship. Through the AANC Leadership Lyceum, Jay hopes to strengthen his leadership skills and make a lasting impact on the industry, bringing curiosity, humor, and a commitment to helping others grow.
