Advocate: NAA’s annual advocacy conference, Advocate, was held in late March and gathered over 800 rental housing professionals to advocate for housing affordability solutions. Read the full event digest and watch the video recap.

Disparate Impact in Jeopardy:  President Trump has issued an executive order eliminating disparate impact liability as the industry knows it. The order “eliminates the use of disparate-impact liability in all contexts to the maximum degree possible to avoid violating the Constitution, Federal civil rights laws, and basic American ideals.” Read more.

NAA regional elections for all even regions are scheduled to take place during Apartmentalize on Wednesday, June 11 from 8am - 9am (Local).  The following is a summary of how the elections will be conducted and information on the candidates:

• During the region meeting, NAA Regional Vice President, (RVP) elections will be conducted first. Please note only verified delegates will be eligible to vote in the NAA RVP elections. Instructions on how to register for the vote will be forthcoming.
• NAAEI Regional Board Representative elections will follow the RVP elections. Everyone presents in the region meeting may vote for NAAEI Regional Board Representative.
• Each candidate running for office will have an opportunity to make a brief statement prior to their respective vote.
• The UNOFFICIAL Election results will be announced immediately following the vote.  NAA Election officials will convene and certify the election results 5 days after the elections close and official results will be announced.
• Submitted applications were reviewed and vetted for eligibility in accordance with the NAA Policies and Procedures - Appendix 9.
• All applications as well as a complete list of eligible NAA Regional Vice President and NAAEI Regional Board Representative are available for view in the Region 04elections folder. All voting delegates and delegate alternates should review the applications in advance of the June 11, regional elections.
