AANC Board Spotlight | Sydney Partin

AANC News, Member News,

Sydney Partin (she/her) is one of the newest members of the AANC Board of Directors but a seasoned multifamily professional. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Sydney moved to North Carolina in 2009 to attend NC State University, graduating in 2012 with a degree in Public & Interpersonal Communication. By that time, she had fallen in love with North Carolina and decided to make it her home.

After college, an acquaintance told Sydney about a leasing opportunity at Bell Partners, where she was a leasing professional. She worked at a few local communities before being promoted to Assistant Community Manager (ACM), first with Bell Partners and then moving to Greystar, where she continued to work onsite as an ACM. At that point, Sydney realized the “typical” path of ACM to Community Manager wasn’t for her, so began looking for other opportunities. She applied for a position at The Liberty Group as a Staffing Coordinator and was hired to handle staffing and outside sales in NC. In 2021, the stars aligned, and Sydney was recruited back to Greystar as a Talent Acquisition Advisor, providing support to North Carolina, South Carolina, and Coastal Georgia. In 2024, she was promoted to her current position as Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, focusing her time on recruitment for all of North Carolina.

As chance would have it, one of Sydney’s previous managers introduced her to one of her childhood friends, Travis, who also happened to be in the multifamily industry. Sydney and Travis began dating and have now been together for eight years, demonstrating Sydney’s belief of “how small this industry is and that everything truly is intertwined.” They have a two-year-old daughter, Lacey, described as Sydney’s “pride and joy and arguably the cutest girly there is!”  Sydney and Travis officially tied the knot in 2023, eloping spontaneously on a Monday afternoon with their daughter and two best friends in tow.                 (Sydney and Lacey)

Sydney’s passion for the multifamily industry far exceeds her professional roles, as demonstrated by the many volunteer roles she has filled and continues to fill today. She has been an active member of the Triangle Apartment Association (TAA) Board of Directors since 2023 and began serving on the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of NC (AANC) in 2025. Sydney is also a New Member Ambassador for TAA and serves on the TAA PR Committee, along with being a member of the Multifamily Careers Awareness Committee at the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association (GCAA) and a member of AANC’s Membership Committee. And that’s not all! Her other roles and recognition include:

  • Certified Apartment Supplier (2020) – NAAEI
  • DEI Task Force Member (2021) – TAA
  • Special Events Committee Co-Chair (2021-2023) – TAA

  • Leadership Lyceum (2024) – TAA
  • Train the Trainer Certified (2024) - TAA

Sydney and family currently live in Fuquay-Varina, NC, close to her in-laws, with whom they enjoy spending time with. Outside of her family and her multifamily world, Sydney loves to curl up with some reality TV, sharing that “there’s nothing I won’t dive headfirst into watching- the trashier, the better!” Her current favorites include Summer House, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Teen Mom, and Vanderpump Rules.

Sydney came into the multifamily industry like many others, purely by chance. But through hard work and dedication, she found a home among the people she loves. With a great ability and willingness to get involved and provide guidance, Sydney has become a strong advocate and leader in the multifamily industry, helping others find their way.
