AANC Board Spotlight | Cindy Nitschke

AANC News, Member News,

Cindy Nitschke, AANC Board member, has been part of the multifamily industry for more than 30 years. Originally from Oklahoma, Cindy attended Oklahoma State University, where she majored in Marketing. She got her first taste of the apartment industry one summer while painting and cleaning apartments to help cover her rent.  After graduating, Cindy followed her family to Dallas, Texas, where she began her career as a leasing consultant and eventually advanced to property manager with Fath Properties.

In 1994, Cindy moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and began working for Lone Wolf Publishing as an apartment locator. It was also during this time that she became involved with the Triangle Apartment Association (TAA), volunteering on committees and making connections with industry peers. In 1996, she returned to onsite management, overseeing a variety of communities built by Hanover and managed by SCG/Archstone. Three years later, Cindy was recruited back to Lone Wolf Publishing to sell advertising for The Apartment Book, a role she filled until the company was sold in 2005.

Around the time Cindy left Lone Wolf Publishing, she enrolled in her first class to become a Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS). Over the next 12 years, she held a variety of industry positions before joining Valet Living as a Regional Sales Executive in 2018. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cindy’s tenure was temporarily interrupted, but she returned to Valet Living in 2023. She currently serves as Regional Director of Sales for North Carolina and South Carolina.

Throughout her career, Cindy has remained deeply committed to multifamily and those that have helped shape her professional journey. She shares, "I have tried to serve our industry and the associations that helped shape my career. It has been the best decision and commitment I have ever made for my career."

Her decades of service, leadership, and enthusiasm continue to leave a lasting impact on the industry and serve as an inspiration for the future.
